National N Scale Convention 2011
I attended this convention which began on the evening of Thursday 12th May 2011 and ended on Sunday 15th May 2011.
- The Thursday evening had trade stands, a few layouts on display, and "finger food", with the opportunity to meet people.
- Friday morning consisted of clinics (I attended a kit building clinic followed by a fence making clinic) followed in the afternoon with a bus trip which first visited a layout in Campbelltown and then went on to the rail museum at Thirlmere where we had a steam train ride and went through the museum. The evening ended with a spit roast at Buxton where there were two further layouts on display.
- Saturday had four more sessions of clinics (I attended one on background painting, T TRAK, and Videoing the prototype - I missed the last clinic as I was in a long coversation with someone). The convention dinner was held in the evening with door prizes for everyone.
- Sunday had two more clinics in the morning (I attended the two on DCC) followed by a local layout tour in the afternoon which visited two clubs and a private layout. After the tour ended some of us returned to the Sydney N Scale club who had kindly invited us to a sausage sizzle.
I borrowed a camera and took the below photos during the convention. Only two of the seven clinics I attended had something for me to photograph and so the vast majority of the photos are of the layout tours and the visit to Thirlmere (which is why there are not many photos from Saturday).
